Sydney and the Blue Mountains

Sydney AGAIN

We decided that while we were in sydney we would actually do some touristy things so first on the list was "Whale Watching".

AND would you believe we actually got to see some, i couldn't believe it, and they were breaching and flapping their flippers in the water, it was humpback whales we were viewing. i always seemed to time the seasons wrong before but finally i got to see these amazing, graceful creatures, it was so much fun and an excellent experience.

Wine Tasting

We then went wine tasting in the "Hunter Valley", we had an american couple and an "up there own arse" swedish couple with us. We went to 5 wineries, a champagne house and a cheese & chocolate tasting place (not together though). We actually weren't that impressed with the wines that we tasted, but we tasted non the less. We did purchase some of the ones we liked as well.

Blue Mountains.

We got a bus/train to the blue mountains where we spent 4 days. The hostel we stayed in here was by far the best we have ever stayed in. The blue haze is result of the ultra fine oily mist given off by the eucalyptus trees. We had a 3 day explorer pass that allowed us unlimited travel on the explorer bus. This bus went to all the places that you would want to see. We did some very nice walks here and the weather was fab. We saw the three sisters here and you can actually walk onto one now. We saw some cool waterfalls and we went to this tearoom where the owner has the biggest collection of teapots in australia and here we ate the most delicious scones with cream & jam and drank some nice tea. Al nearly ran to the shop when he heard about the scones and devoured them in one swoop and then decided to go for mine.... they were good though! We also went to see "Miami Vice", cheese at it's best but watch-able.

Sky Tower Walk.

This is Sydney's centre point. Its a needle like column with an observation deck and restaurants 250m above sydney. We actually took it one step forward and did the walk on the outside of the building which was kinda cool. They had a sliding glass platform that when you stood on it and looked down all you can see is the ground, kinda freaked us out, but was totally enjoyable.
