Jacquie And Al's World Tour

Here you'll find the latest ramblings as I travel the world with my other half Jacquie. God only know's what wonderful sights we'll see, what fanastic diseases we'll catch (i'm personally hoping for avian flu), life altering experiences etc etc. So stay tuned as the adventure unfolds. Oh and for some fun, you can also interact with us as we travel with a version of "Where's Wally?" called "Where's Bear ?" On some pictures a little yellow bear might appear. Can you see him ?

Cairns

We ended up spending 3 weeks in total in cairns, Why i really don't know, we seemed to just get stuck there and we moved hostel more times because the standard of hostel here is rubbish. But we did manage to do a really cool trip, it was one to get us out of cairns and to give us time to see what exactly we were going to do.

Our little 3 day trip took us up to the atherton tablelands. Here we saw some wonderful waterfalls. Al took a dip in "millau millau falls" even though it was freezing i on the other hand was clever and did not. We also went to "Mt hypipamee crater" and "Dinner Falls". Also on this trip we did a 20km cycle ride which was a real killer, did some canoeing where me and Al had abit of a tiff out on the lake as i wasn't paddling enough for him (whatever) but we did get to see some tree kangaroos and a python and i got to paint Al's face aboringal style. We also got to spot turtles in "Lake Barrine" and tried in vain to see platypus but alas it was not meant to be.

We got back to Cairns and Al finally decided to proceed and do some diving and get his Padi Certificate (where he was living aboard and did 10 dives). We also met up with some of Al's relations who live here. So while Al was away diving for the week i was snuggled up in a nice hotel room. One of al's relations works for the hotel and she was able to give us a special discount rate so we decided after everything we have been through to spoil ourselves a little, well i benefited from it more but it was well worth spending the extra money for it. I lazed by the pool, took a bath almost every night because it had be about 6 mths since i was able to soak in a bath so i took full advance of it. It was bliss.

We flew back to sydney 2 days before leaving for tonga and we stayed with Mary at bondi beach which was cool. Then our adventure in tonga began.
