Barcelona

We took a weekend trip to Barcelona which should have been a wonderful weekend but it kind of turned into abit of disaster, mainly due to the fact that the Edinburgh baggage staff could not manage to get our bags on to the plane, so yes we arrived in lovely Barcelona with nothing. We approached the lovely people (NOT) on the help desk for lost luggage, they just gibbered there crap and promised to deliver our bags asap and off we set to try and find our hotel, which I was convinced they would not have our reservation so after getting the wrong train we eventually arrived at our hotel and checked in, Girl on reception was so RUDE but she did have our reservation.

So after taking stock of what was after happening in the last few hours we decided to just go on the piss and wait for our bags to arrive the next day, that was the best option we though. Off we set down to “Port Vell” for some Tapas & Vino.
Along the way we stopped of at “Monument a Colum” where Al climbed on top of one of the massive lions to get his picture taken like all the rest of the tourists. We ended up having one to many bottles of Spanish wine and fell back to our hotel to bed.

The next day I awoke to the worst hangover EVER and I ended up been ill for most of the day but I did manage to struggle along and see some sights. We went to “Sagrada Familia” “Le Pedrera” (Casa Milia) “Placa D’Espanya” we also went to the Gothic Qtr aswell as “Cathedral Square” We had some dinner on La Rambla which is totally over rated where I had coke all night J

But before we went for dinner we went back to the hotel to check to see if our bags had arrived and of course they did not, so I called the insurance line and they told me that they had no record of our bags so that was worrying now they didn’t even know where our bags were. They did however offer us compensation of 53 euros each, I laughed, we had nothing and they expected us to get clothes and cosmetics out of 53 euros, so off we had to go to find a flipping shopping centre not easy in a city you don’t know and buy clothes, we soon found out that all the clothes in the shops are for the Autumn season, so no shorts for Al and no flip flops for me, after buying sun block deodorant and underwear that was my budget almost gone. Never the less we did spend over 53 euros on stuff, we had no choice.

Sunday we went to “Parc Guell” “Casa Museu Gaudi” & “Font Magica De Montjuic” All of which were lovely and the weather was beautiful for the weekend and our bags did finally arrive at about 6pm on Sunday night, so we were delighted that they actually arrived at all.
