Pentlands & Rosslyn Chapel

The Pentlands is about 10,000 hectares of countryside and 100km of paths to explore. The hills just seem to ramble on for ages, you climb one bit and as you reach the top patting yourself on the back for making it up this massive hill, panting like maniac, you finally reach the top only to discover an even bigger hill to climb. We, of course did not climb this bigger hill. I reckon we both would have had to be rescued off the side of it both suffering from lack of oxygen. It is really lovely when you get up high you can see for miles around and gives you a birds eye view of Edinburgh and we went prepared this time, we actually brought the binoculars which were great, it’s amazing how far you can see with them.

After our little walking trip I spotted a sign for Rosslyn Chapel made famous by The Di Vinci Code, so away we went to catch a glimpse of this famous church, as we drove up the place was crawling with tourists all out to see this famous place us included, but alas it was not meant to be, the chapel was under a shelter as it's been renovated at the moment therefore not giving us a clear view of it, so we took a lovely country walk around the area, it was very pleasant.
