The Snow Capped Mountain

We left Tokyo today to go to Mt Fuji. We got a bullet train to Mishima then a bus from there to Gotemba then another bus to Lake Kawaguchiko, from the time we left Minowa (Tokyo) to when we arrived at LK we had been travelling for 8 hours, half way through i was wondering if it was worth it all but when i saw Mt fuji i knew it was, it was fab.

We managed to catch the sunset on Mt Fuji in the evening. We then fell asleep about 6pm and woke at 5am, we got up about 6.30 (Al here, check out the photo of the Japanese bath that we had in our hostel, totally amazing, one of the highlights for me so far) and headed out to watch the sunrise and went down to the lake and took in the fresh mountain air and walked around the lake, the views around were spectacular (see the pics), Al got a cable car up one of the hills to get a panoramic view of the lake and Mt Fuji.

It was then time to make the trip back to Mishima and get the train to Hiroshima. The reason we are rushing about is our Rail Pass expires on Wednesday and we wanted to get to Hiroshima and then to Koyoto on it. Oh also we meet this really nice German guy in our hostel before we left, he was over here doing a movie and had some time off and was taking in some of the sights. Also starring in the movie was Bruno Gantz - for all you film buffs out there.
